It was truly a pinch-me moment when Dogwood Hill contacted me last Christmas to ask if I would be part of their 2021 Holiday Tastemaker lineup. After an easy and excited “Yes!,” I was paired with artist Shanna Masters and began the task of putting together a Mood Board. Inspired by all things vintage, Christmas is no exception, with Old Hollywood movies a magical part of our season — Think White Christmas, Holiday Inn, and Little Women, to name a few.
It was a bit of that Old Hollywood magic we wanted to capture in our Holiday Tastemaker Suite, so I went to work to create our Mood Board.
The result was nothing short of magical, with a Mood Board that represented all the things, and an additional, (and very special), piece of inspiration coming from memories of the wooden goose my grandmother always kept as a centerpiece on the dining room table at her very glamorous Falls Church, Virginia home. Further inspiration came from elements of our home, including the vintage French hand-painted wallpaper panels (or Grisaille) that hangs in our dining room, Fretwork furniture elements that grace our home, and the Williamsburg-inspired Christmas we celebrated last season.
From here, the project was put into the talented hands of Dogwood Hill artist Shanna Masters, who brought our vision to life in ways I never could have dreamed of.
