Merry, Merry!

If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing, and our over-the-top Merry & Bright Christmas Tablescape in collaboration with Sarah Flint has filled our home with Christmas cheer this season!

Here at Tallwood, the Christmas season brings with it the vintage glamour of Christmas past — Think White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Christmas in Connecticut, and so many other old Hollywood Christmas films; think white lights, tinseled trees, and mercury glass ornaments…. Enter, the loveliest set of linens via Sarah Flint’s new Home Decor collection, which we are delighted to feature in our Merry & Bright Christmas Tablescape.

The beautiful jeweled tones of the Sarah Flint Jardin Green Floral Linens provided the perfect backdrop for vintage Bordallo Cabbage Ware and festive seasonal elements, such as dried and sugared fruit, touches of silver and gold, and shiny Champagne Christmas Crackers. The tonal velvety deer were sourced via Target, and the Scandinavian-inspired Christmas tree centerpiece, a last minute Homegoods find!

Sarah Flint’s Jardin Green Floral Linens are STUNNING…. The rectangular size we featured linked here!

Champagne Crackers

These shiny Champagne Crackers via Caspari are so chic — Possibly our favorite ever!!!

Bamboo Flatware

The flatware we used was a vintage Asian style, but this Juliska Bamboo Flatware via is a favorite!

A seasonal staple in every proper Washingtonian home each Christmas, our White House Ornament Tabletop, set against the backdrop of the dining room’s lovely French Grisaille, rounds out the pretty scene, while the addition of smoky velvet blue bows and bits of English Ivy to the vintage chandelier add yet another layer of whimsy.

Additional vintage elements include the wood and brass Asian flatware, gold-rimmed glassware, and silver-plate pieces, all of which were thrifted via our local Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or local Estate Sales. If you’re in the market, don’t forget to also check local antique stores, and eBay and Etsy!!!

"O Christmas Tree..."

Swooning over this sweet holiday napkin fold we shared during our guest spot on the Sarah Flint IG channel this season — Such a lovely way to gift an ornament to guests, and our choice here was a lovely dove ornament via Fig & Dove. Linked their Set of 15 Small Dove Ornaments here, but they can also be purchased individually, here.
